Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has announced the acquisition of London-based RedPixie to further bolster its cloud consulting expertise.

RedPixie’s vision, in the company’s own words, is ‘to go beyond technology, building and managing Azure hybrid solutions for clients in financial services.’ The company was founded in 2010 and comprises a team of business consultants, cloud architects and data scientists.

Pivotal Software goes for a $100 million IPO

Pivotal Software, the arbiter of the open source Cloud Foundry project and one of the many horses in Dell’s stable, has filed for an IPO worth a potential $100 million (£70.4m).

The S-1 filing revealed Pivotal posted overall revenues of $509.4m for fiscal 2018, at an increase of 22.4% from the year before, with subscription revenue exceeding services revenue for the first time at $259m.

Red Hat acquires CoreOS for $250 million to boost container play

Red Hat has announced the acquisition of CoreOS, a provider of Kubernetes and container solutions, for $250 million (£176.5m).

The band is getting together again at Veeam – to a point. The Swiss-based backup software provider has announced the acquisition of N2WS, a company specialising in Amazon Web Services (AWS) backup and disaster recovery, on whose board sits Veeam co-founder and former CEO Ratmir Timashev.

Veeam on target for billion dollar status after posting latest financial results

Cloud backup software provider Veeam says it is “well-poised” to become a billion dollar software company by the end of 2018 after posting $827 million (£611m) in total bookings revenue for 2017.

Data centre 2017 M&A deals beat 2015 and 2016 combined totals, says Synergy Research

The appetite for data centre deals in 2017 increased dramatically, with 48 transactions at $20 billion overall, according to Synergy Research.

The total surpasses those of 2015 and 2016 combined, which produced 45 deals – 28 in 2016 and 17 in 2015 – at just over $15bn.
