Veeam on target for billion dollar status after posting latest financial results

Cloud backup software provider Veeam says it is “well-poised” to become a billion dollar software company by the end of 2018 after posting $827 million (£611m) in total bookings revenue for 2017.

The Swiss-based company said it secured more $500,000-plus deals in 2017 than in the previous six years combined, taking its total number of customers to 282,000. Deals which were $1 million and above saw 500% growth in 2017.

SolarWinds acquires Loggly to strengthen its cloud portfolio

SolarWinds, an IT management software provider, has announced the acquisition of software as a service (SaaS) firm Loggly to deepen its cloud software engineering and analytics expertise.

Data centre 2017 M&A deals beat 2015 and 2016 combined totals, says Synergy Research

The appetite for data centre deals in 2017 increased dramatically, with 48 transactions at $20 billion overall, according to Synergy Research.

The total surpasses those of 2015 and 2016 combined, which produced 45 deals – 28 in 2016 and 17 in 2015 – at just over $15bn. Datto merges with Autotask aiming to create the largest vendor in the managed services space

MongoDB sets up to go public, reveals $101m yearly revenues in filing

Database provider MongoDB has filed to go public, confirming reports from a month previously and potentially becoming the third major cloud IPO of 2017 after Okta and Cloudera.
